SAINT ROSE RALLY FALLS SHORT AT DAEMEN

AMHERST, N.Y.–The College of Saint Rose rallied from a 24 point, 43-19, first half deficit only to come up short in today's 74-55 non-conference setback at Daemen. The host Wildcats shot 52.9 percent (9-for-17) from the arc to extend their win streak to seven games, while improving to 6-0 at home.

Sophomore guard Adam Anderson scored all 12 of his points in the second period to lead the Golden Knights (4-8). Senior forward Matt Cerutti added 11 points and eight rebounds, while sophomore forward Jeff Allen finished with eight points. Also, senior guard Kamron Johnson dished out a career-high seven assists without committing a turnover.

Saint Rose opened the second half with eight unanswered points to get to within 11, 45-34, with 14:12 to go in the ballgame. Anderson then drained back-to-back 3-pointers to make it a nine point, 56-47, affair with 8:21 remaining.

However, junior forward Jeff Redband converted a four-point play out of a media timeout to push the Daemen (9-1) advantage back to 13, 60-47, with 8:11 remaining. Saint Rose got no closer than within 11 points the rest of the way.

Redband wound up with a game-high 23 points and junior guard Breon Harris tossed in 19 to propel the Wildcats. Senior swing Deion Hamilton and senior forward Quinn Lee Yaw tossed in 11 and 10 respectively.

Looking ahead, Saint Rose returns home for the first time in a month Wednesday for a 7:30 pm non-conference meeting with East Stroudsburg. The game may be viewed live on gogoldenknights.tv on NE10Now. Live stats may be viewed HERE. Meanwhile, the Wildcats have a home non-league game Wednesday as well when they face #4 Saint Anselm at noon.
Notes: The Golden Knights last three opponents, all of whom they faced on the road, own a 28-3 record collectively on the year…Cerutti has been in double-figures in each of the last seven games, while Anderson has pulled off the feat in each of the last six.
