SAINT ROSE CRUISES PAST LIU POST

BROOKVILLE, N.Y.–The College of Saint Rose jumped out to a 16-2 lead and never looked back on the way to today's 90-62 non-league victory at LIU Post. The Golden Knights (2-3) shot 54.8 percent (34-for-62) from the floor and 50.0 percent (14-for-28) from the arc, while putting 11 players into the scoring column.

Freshman forward Sekou Sylla and sophomore guard Adam Anderson scored 19 points apiece to lead Saint Rose. Sylla also hauled in seven rebounds and went 8-for-12 from the floor. Sophomore guard Matt Keenan came off the bench to toss in a career-high 12 points behind four 3-pointers in the opening 10 minutes, while senior guard Shane Herrity added 11.

Sophomore forward Alonzo Ortiz-Traylor scored 26 points and freshman guard Kendell Ogilvie finished with 20 to lead the Pioneers (0-3), who only had nine players dressed.

Looking ahead, the Golden Knights return to Northeast-10 Conference action Wednesday to host Upstate Challenge rival Le Moyne. The second half of the league doubleheader is scheduled to tip-off at 7:30 pm. Meanwhile, LIU Post has a 3:00 pm meeting next Saturday at Nyack College.
