GOLDEN KNIGHTS BATTLE BEFORE FALLING 60-57 AT PACE

Saint Rose Cuts 13-Point Deficit to One

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. - The College of Saint Rose cut a double-digit second half deficit to a single-point before falling at Pace University 60-57 in this evening's Northeast-10 Conference game.

Senior forward Karissa Birthwright topped the Golden Knights (2-3/0-3 NE10) with 17 points and eight rebounds.

Pace (2-3/1-1 NE10) received 22 points on 9-of-13 shooting and nine rebounds from sophomore forward Lauren Schetter. Freshman guard Brianna Wong added 10 points.

After Saint Rose opened the contest on a 7-2 run, Pace used a 13-of-16 effort at the foul line to hold a 28-26 halftime lead. Pace netted 13 of the first 15 second half points to turn what was a 28-26 deficit into a 13-point advantage.

The Golden Knights, down six with less than a minute remaining, rallied to make it a 58-57 game with 11 seconds remaining. Senior guard Ashley Vanderwall tallied four points during the stretch.

Following a pair of made foul shots by Pace sophomore center Illiana Krasniqi, a three-point attempt by Vanderwall at the buzzer was off the mark.

Looking ahead, the Golden Knights will host Upstate Challenge rival Le Moyne on Wednesday, November 28th at 5:30 pm. Pace will host Post University on Sunday afternoon.
