ALBANY, N.Y.-The College of Saint Rose put four players in double figures to upend Georgian Court 90-74 while delivering interim head coach
Mike Perno his first official collegiate victory. The Golden Knights (1-0) buried 44.4 percent of their chances from the arc and outrebounded the Lions (0-2) 17-6 on the offensive glass that led to a 20-6 second chance point differential.

"I thought our guys played really hard and with a great deal of energy. We really shared the ball and made some solid plays. We need to continue to get better every day," said Perno.

Sophomore guard
Adam Anderson finished 5-for-7 from long distance on the way to a career-high 29 points, while senior forward
Matt Cerutti finished with 14 points and tied his career bests of 12 rebounds and five assists to lead Saint Rose. Freshman forward
Sekou Sylla contributed 16 points and nine rebounds in 18 minutes off the bench. Senior guard
Shane Herrity had 14 points and five assists.

Meanwhile, junior forward Caleb Browser finished with 28 points and six assists for Georgian Court.

The Golden Knights led for all but 3:23 and scored eight unanswered points that turned a one point, 59-58, deficit into a seven point, 66-59, advantage with 8:14 to go after Sylla knocked down a jumper. Saint Rose then held the Lions to one field goal throughout the final six minutes to seal the victory.

Looking ahead, the Golden Knights open the Northeast-10 Conference portion of their 2018-19 docket at home Wednesday with a 7:30 pm game versus Southern Connecticut State. The women's teams get the league doubleheader rolling at 5:30 pm. Meanwhile, Georgian Court has a 7:00 pm meeting Wednesday at Millersville.
