GOLDEN KNIGHTS REGISTER THIRD STRAIGHT SHUTOUT

ALBANY, N.Y.-The College of Saint Rose recorded its third consecutive shutout and won its sixth straight with tonight's 1-0 victory against visiting Northeast-10 Conference rival Saint Michael's 1-0.

Junior midfielder Caitlyn Dabagian provided the difference when she knocked home a carom off a deflected shot from 12-yards away in the opening 10 minutes of the second stanza. It marked Dabagian's fifth strike this season and extended her goal scoring streak to three matches.

The Golden Knights (7-2-1/5-2-0 NE10) controlled pace throughout the evening that yielded a 9-3 shots-on-goal advantage and a 9-0 corner kick differential.

Junior forward Nina Predanic delivered five threats on target to test Purple Knights (1-6-2/0-5-2 NE10) sophomore keeper Liz Vallatini whose eight stops kept an upset bid intact. Meanwhile, Golden Knights junior Marika Laurendeau came up with three saves to extend her shutout streak to 275 minutes.

Looking ahead, both squads return to the pitch Saturday. The Golden Knights host Bentley at 2:00 pm, while Saint Michael's heads to Pleasantville, N.Y. to take on Pace University at 12:00 pm. More importantly, the College will celebrate the 2011 National Championship Team's Induction into the NE10 Hall of Fame that afternoon. The squad will be recognized during a ceremony prior to the match and there will be a 7:00 pm dessert reception inside the Touhey Forum of the Lally School of Education.
Notes: The Golden Knights are ranked #7 in the United Soccer Coaches East Region Poll after being listed #8 last week…Laurendeau was named the NE10 Goalkeeper of the Week on Monday…Seven different players have found the back of the net this autumn…Tonight marked the program's 202nd regular-season NE10 victory, second only to Merrimack although the latter joined the league 16 years earlier in 1984…Predanic is the NE10 leader in both points (29) and goals (9), and is tied for second in assists (5)…Laurendeau stands second among the league leaders in save percentage (.859) and is third in goals-against-average (0.80).
