GOLDEN KNIGHTS PLAY TO 1-1 DRAW WITH #23 SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE ON FACULTY AND PARENTS APPRECIATION DAY

Saint Rose to host Saint Anselm in NE10 Championship Quarterfinal on Tuesday.

ALBANY, N.Y.-The College of Saint Rose closed out its regular-season with this afternoon's 1-1 draw against visiting Northeast-10 Conference foe Southern New Hampshire on Faculty and Parents Appreciation Day. The Golden Knights (12-3-3/9-3-2 NE10) will now host Saint Anselm in an NE10 Championship Quarterfinal Tuesday.

Today's match featured plenty of action as the two squads combined for 43 shots, 19 corner kicks, and 17 keeper saves. The Penmen (13-3-3/10-2-2 NE10), who are ranked #23 in the most recent United Soccer Coaches Weekly National Poll, generated 11 shots-on-goal, while Saint Rose (12-3-3/9-3-2 NE10) engineered eight.

Freshman forward Kaelyn Britt put the Golden Knights ahead 1-0 with 57:01 gone by when she touched home a pass from junior forward Nina Predanic. Southern New Hampshire leveled it 27 minutes later when senior midfielder Miranda Peloquin finished a feed off the right side from freshman forward Dorthea Glorud.

Saint Rose almost scored in the third minute as junior midfielder Sanja Ratkovic flicked a ball over the head of Southern New Hampshire freshman keeper Hannah Rose that forced the latter to scramble backwards to prevent it from rolling over the goal line. In the 79th minute, senior midfielder Sophia Constantine lined a corner from the right flag that senior midfielder Julianne Johnston got in the air to head just beyond the near goal post.

The Penmen had a great chance themselves at the 59:59 mark when junior midfielder Shae Roys lined a shot that Golden Knights junior keeper Marika Laurendeau deflected out of the way while diving to her right.
