NEW HAVEN, Conn.-Host Southern Connecticut State struck for the game's lone goal with a mere 13 seconds left in regulation to upend The College of Saint Rose 1-0 in Northeast-10 Conference action this evening.

Freshman forward Juan Avila scored the game-winner when he headed home a feed off the left side from sophomore back Kevin van der Pol for his first collegiate goal.

The match was even played as the Golden Knights (7-7-1/4-5-1 NE10), who dropped their sixth one-goal game of the season, engineered a 12-11 shot advantage while each side generated four corners.

Ryan Henning made four saves for Saint Rose in his second career start while Bailey Bassett turned aside four at the other end for the Owls (9-7-0/6-6-0 NE10).

Looking ahead, both sides play their final regular-season matches Friday. Saint Rose hosts New Haven at 7:00 pm for Senior Night, while Southern Connecticut State travels to Manchester. N.H. to take on Saint Anselm at 3:00 pm.
