GOLDEN KNIGHTS SHUT OUT MOLLOY


ROCKVILLE CENTREY, N.Y.-The College of Saint Rose scored once in each half and generated a 24-4 shot advantage to upend host Molloy 2-0 in non-league action this afternoon.
 
Junior forward Morgan Burchhardt set up both strikes while senior midfielder Julianne Johnston and junior midfielder Sanja Ratkovic recorded their third and fifth respective goals of the year to propel the Golden Knights (11-3-2). Also, junior keeper Marika Laurendeau recorded three saves to chalk up her eighth clean sheet this autumn.
 
Saint Rose accounted for nine of the matches' first 10 shots before Burchhardt delivered a corner that Johnston headed into the back of the net with 29:38 elapsed. Ratkovic then touched home a Burchhardt feed inside the six-yard-area to provide the insurance marker at the 59:07 mark.
 
Looking ahead, both sides return to the pitch Wednesday. Saint Rose heads to Pleasantville to face Northeast-10 Conference rival Pace University at 7:00 pm, while Molloy hosts Queens for a 4:00 pm East Coast Conference match.
Notes: The Golden Knights have won at least 10 matches in each of the past 19 years…The y are ranked #8 in this week's United Soccer Coaches East Region Poll…Junior forward Nina Predanic continues to lead the NE10 in points (29) and is tied for the lead in goals (11)…Burchhardt is tied for the conference lead in assists (9)…Laurendeau stands second among the conference leaders in save percentage (.853) and is fourth in goals-against-average (0.85).
