WALHAM, Mass. - The College of Saint Rose put five players in double-figures scoring while senior forward
Julian Lipinski and junior forward
Matt Cerutti both recorded their fourth "double-doubles" of the year in today's 81-73
Northeast-10 Conference victory at Bentley.
Â
The Golden Knights (11-4/6-1 NE10) turned the ball over a mere seven times and got 24 points from their bench, while racking up their fifth win in the last six games.
Â
"I thought our guys played as unselfish as they have all year, which helped land five of them in double figures on the way to a gritty road win," said assistant coach
Mike Perno.
Â
Lipinski finished with 22 points, behind 9-for-13 shooting, and 11 rebounds while Cerutti wound up with 11 points and 11 caroms. Senior guard
Mical-Ryan Boyd tossed in 15 points. Senior forward
Jack Jones and freshman guard
Adam Anderson scored 12 apiece.
Â
Junior guard Ryan Richmond wound up with a game-high 26 points to lead the Falcons (8-6/5-4 NE10).
Â
Saint Rose trailed for only two minutes throughout the afternoon and led by as much as 21, 60-39, after Boyd knocked down back-to-back treys with 14:50 to go. Bentley countered with 11 unanswered points to cut its deficit to 10, but Jones canned one from long distance to thwart the spurt.
Â
The Falcons managed to make it a two possession game with 1:04 left before the Golden Knights sealed it by going 9-for-10 from the foul line throughout the final 50 seconds.
