ALBANY, N.Y. - The College of Saint Rose held Stonehill to 21 points below its season scoring average and never trailed throughout tonight's 88-59
Northeast-10 Conference triumph at the Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium. The Golden Knights have now won six of their last seven, including three straight, and improved to 6-1 at home.

Junior guard
Shane Herrity filled the box score with 19 points, on 8-for-10 shooting, a career-high eight rebounds, and three assists in 26 minutes of action. Senior guard
Mical-Ryan Boyd was right behind him in the scoring column with 18 points. Junior forward
Matt Cerutti registered his fifth "double-double" of the year with 12 points and 11 boards, while freshman guard
Adam Anderson added 10 points in 16 minutes of reserve duty.

"Our guys played with great effort and energy. It was nice to see a bunch of different players have an impact on the game. Shane's performance was one of the best I have seen from him all year," said assistant coach

Saint Rose shot 56.3 percent (18-for-32) from the floor during the initial 20 minutes on the way to a 47-27 halftime lead. The Golden Knights (12-4/7-1 NE10) jumped out to a 9-2 advantage throughout the first three minutes and opened up a double-digit cushion for the remainder of the evening after Herrity made it a 12 point, 36-24, ballgame by knocking down a trey with 5:42 to go until the break.

The outcome was never really in doubt in the second half as the Skyhawks (8-7/4-5 NE10), who arrived in the Capital Region having won six of their previous seven games, never got any closer than 14. Sophomore guard Brandon Twitty led Stonehill with 18 points.

Looking ahead, both squads have 3:30 pm road conference games Saturday. The Golden Knights head to Rindge, N.H. to take on Franklin Pierce, while the Skyhawks travel to New Haven to face Southern Connecticut State.
Notes: Saint Rose is again ranked #9 in the D2CCA East Region Media Poll. The Golden Knights are 15th in the country and first in the NE10 in scoring defense (65.5). They are furthermore second in the league in blocks (3.9) and stand third in field goal percentage defense (41.6). Saint Rose has turned the ball over fewer than 10 times throughout eight of its previous 10 contests. Cerutti is tied for second among the league leaders in rebounding (7.9).
