Northeast-10 Conference setback at Merrimack.

The Warriors (11-8/7-7 NE10) opened the period on a 16-2 run that turned the Saint Rose (9-11/7-7 NE10) 20-18 halftime lead into a double-digit deficit.

Junior guard
Ashley Vanderwall topped Saint Rose with nine points, while junior forward
Karissa Birthwright secured a team-high nine rebounds.

Freshman forward
Nina Fedullo had all of her six points in the first half as the Golden Knights held Merrimack to 11.1 percent (1-for-9) shooting from the arc during the opening 20 minutes.

Freshman forward Alyssa Casey led the Warriors with 15 points on 7-of-11 shooting, while junior guard Lindsay Werner, the fourth-leading scorer in the NE10, tossed in 12.

Looking ahead, both teams have conference games next week. The Golden Knights host Southern Connecticut State on Saturday at 1:30 pm as part of the Capital Region Alumni Chapter Day. Merrimack entertains Assumption on Wednesday at 5:30 pm.
