MANCHESTER, N.H.-The College of Saint Rose had its six-game win streak snapped with tonight's 79-71 setback at
Northeast-10 Conference cross-division leader Saint Anselm. The host Hawks (15-4/11-3 NE10) have now won 10 of their last 11 and are 9-1 at home.
Â
Senior guard
Mical-Ryan Boyd finished with 19 points, while junior guard
Shane Herrity tossed in 14 points to lead the Golden Knights (15-5/10-2 NE10) scoring parade. Senior forward
Jack Jones had 11 and junior forward
Matt Cerutti finished with 10 points and nine rebounds. Also, senior forward
Julian Lipinski added nine points, and eight boards, to become only the 31st player in program annals to reach the 1,000-point plateau.
Â
Freshman guard Chris Paul scored 26 points, behind a 9-for-13 shooting effort, and junior guard Tim Guers finished with 22 to propel the Hawks (25-4/11-3 NE10).

Â
The Golden Knights were up six after Lipinski finished a feed from sophomore guard
Michael Wearne with 11:47 to play. However, the Hawks countered with a 15-2 jaunt that put them up seven, 69-62, when Guers drained a trey with 5:37 showing on the clock. It remained a two possession game from that point forward.
Â
Looking ahead, Saint Rose is back on the road Saturday for a 3:00 pm NE10 meeting at Merrimack in North Andover, Mass. Meanwhile, the Hawks have a 6:00 pm non-league home date Thursday with NYIT.
Notes: The Golden Knights are now 8-1 at home, 5-3 on the road and have won nine of their last 11. Saint Rose entered the evening 10-1 in NE10 play for only the second time in its 18-year league tenure. The other time came in 2004-05 when the Golden Knights opened their conference slate 11-1. Boyd is six shy of joining Lipinski in the 1,000-point club. Five players are averaging between 15.8 and 9.4 points on the year. The Golden Knights have put five players in twin-figures scoring on four occasions and have had four drop in at least 10 points five other times. Furthermore, six players pulled off the feat in last Wednesday's 88-75 victory against Southern New Hampshire. Boyd and Lipinski are the top point producers. Lipinski is scoring at a 13.5 ppg clip and is pulling down 7.1 rebounds on a regular basis. He is second in the NE10 with 1.8 blocks per game. Cerutti is third among the league leaders in rebounding (7.8). As a team, the Golden Knights are second in the NE10 in scoring defense (65.6) and blocks (3.8), and stand third in field goal percentage defense (42.5). Saint Rose has won the turnover battle 14 times this season. It is 11-3 in those games and has a +2.1 turnover margin on the year. The Golden Knights had a season-low five miscues tonight.
