GOLDEN KNIGHTS ROLL TO VICTORIES

NYACK, N.Y. - The College of Saint Rose women's volleyball team held its opponents to a -.008 hitting percentage as it swept two non-conference contests at the Nyack tri-match.  The Golden Knights (8-8/0-2 Northeast-10 Conference) defeated Mercy, 3-1 and Nyack 3-0.

"We were very focused and executed our game plans," said head coach Vanessa Volpe-Rivera. "Our serving was aggressive and we found the court well."

Sophomore outside hitter Stevie Schweitzer  led the Golden Knights with 29 kills, including a career-high of 16 against Mercy, on the afternoon.

In the opener, freshman Brenna Goebel contributed 14 kills on .273 hitting. The rookie added 10 digs for her first career "double-double". Junior middle hitter Shayna Webber tossed in 12 kills with a team-high .550 hitting percentage as Saint Rose broke a four-match losing streak.

Saint Rose served up nine aces against the Mavericks (3-12).

Against Nyack (4-15), Schweitzer led the offense with 13 kills. Webber added seven on .375 hitting.

The Golden Knights' defense, which totaled 124 digs, received 42 digs from sophomore libero Tina Ceriello
