SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The College of Saint Rose women's volleyball team fell 3-0 in
Northeast-10 Conference action at Le Moyne. The Golden Knights (8-9/0-3 NE10) dropped the
Upstate Challenge match by scores of 26-24, 25-17 and 25-22.
Sophomore outside hitter
Stevie Schweitzer led Saint Rose with 10 kills. Junior middle hitter
Shayna Webber added nine kills on .350 hitting.
Junior setter
Sam Kubik recorded her eighth "double-double" of the season. The Golden Knights' co-captain distributed 28 assists and dug 11 Dolphin attacks. She added five kills on .267 hitting.
Sophomore libero
Tina Ceriello, the reigning NE10 libero of the week, had 12 digs for Saint Rose.
The Dolphins (8-7/1-3 NE10) received 15 kills from junior middle hitter Anna Hafoka. Senior setter Kendall Coleman dished out 39 assists and junior libero Mikayla Porr had 23 digs.
Saint Rose held a 24-21 lead in the opening set, but Le Moyne rallied.
The Dolphins got out to a 6-2 lead in the second set. After Saint Rose battled back to make it a 7-6 game, Le Moyne went on a 10-5 run to take a 2-0 advantage.
The third set was a tightly contested affair. A 4-0 Dolphins' run midway through gave the home team enough of a cushion to finish the sweep.
Both teams have home NE10 matches on Saturday. Saint Rose hosts New Haven at 1pm. Le Moyne will receive a visit from Assumption.
