GOLDEN KNIGHTS SUFFER FIRST SETBACK

ALBANY-The College of Saint Rose dictated the pace of play for much of the evening, but visiting Upstate Challenge rival Le Moyne scored off a restart midway through the second half to upend the previous unbeaten Golden Knights 1-0 in Northeast-10 Conference action tonight.

Saint Rose engineered a 14-8 shot advantage, including a 7-5 edge in on-target threats, and a 6-0 corner kick differential, but sophomore midfielder Claire Stackel converted a free kick from 25-yards out for what proved to be the game winner.

Both keepers excelled to keep the match close. Sophomore Marika Laurendeau recorded four saves for Saint Rose (6-1-1/5-1-0 NE10), while junior Anastasija Cumika turned aside seven shots on target for the Dolphins (3-5-0/2-3-0 NE10).
