#24 FRANKLIN PIERCE STRIKES QUICK TO HOLD OFF SAINT ROSE

Rindge, N.H.-Host Franklin Pierce scored twice within a three-minute span midway through the first half to upend The College of Saint Rose 3-1 in Northeast-10 Conference action tonight. In the process, the 24th-ranked Ravens kept their unblemished record intact.

Senior midfielder Suleiman Haruna-iya accounted for the Golden Knights (1-5/1-2 NE10) strike in the 83rd minute when he headed home a cross from freshman midfielder Andrew Lule. The goal ruined the Ravens' (5-0/3-0 NE10) shutout streak that spanned 394 minutes dating back to their season-opening 2-1 victory versus Bridgeport.

Senior back Hamish Cadigan scored the game-winner and set up the first goal to propel the Franklin Pierce attack.

Meanwhile, Saint Rose forced sophomore keeper Jadel Poon-Lewis to tie his season-best effort of four saves. At the other end, sophomore Gianni Carillo registered three stops in his third career start for the Golden Knights.

Looking ahead, Saint Rose is back home Saturday for a 2:00 pm meeting with league rival Bentley. The match will be part of HOME.COMING Weekend festivities. Meanwhile, the Ravens have a 2:00 pm NE10 meeting Saturday at Southern Connecticut State in New Haven.
