EDINBORO, Pa. - The College of Saint Rose volleyball team split a pair of contests at the Rebich Investments Invitational, hosted by Edinboro University. The Golden Knights (2-2) defeated Davis & Elkins 3-1 (25-23, 22-25, 25-23, 25-17) and were swept by Fairmont State 3-0.
In the opener, junior middle hitter
Shayna Webber led the offensive effort with 10 kills. Sophomore outside hitter
Stevie Schweitzer and sophomore libero
Tina Ceriello each totaled a team-high 14 digs, while junior setter
Sam Kubik dished out 38 assists.
Freshman outside hitter
Graciela Cruz represented Saint Rose on the All-Tournament team.
"We went into this opening weekend with goals of playing as a team and working together for every point," said head coach
Vanessa Volpe-Rivera. "We played four very strong programs that pushed and challenged us. We are now looking forward to our first home match on Tuesday."
The Golden Knights host Felician in their home opener on Tuesday, Sept. 5 at 7pm.
