ALBANY-The College of Saint Rose women's volleyball team hit 30.4-percent in its 3-0 non-conference victory over Felician tonight. The Golden Knights (3-2) won its home opener by scores of 25-19, 25-17 and 25-14.
"Im very happy with how the team played today," said head coach
Vanessa Volpe-Rivera. "We started off a bit slow in the first set, but we were able to overcome it and go into set two with confidence and a game plan. Our offense and defense worked together as a team today."
Freshman outside hitter
Graciela Cruz topped Saint Rose with 16 kills. Senior middle hitter
Maddy Halverson contributed eight kills, while junior middle hitter
Shayna Webber added seven.
Junior setter
Sam Kubik totaled 38 assists, while sophomore libero
Tina Ceriello registered 11 digs.
Felician (0-1) received six kills from junior outside hitter Paulina Calero and 14 assists from sophomore setter Charlotte Greek.
Saint Rose competes against LIU-Post, Bloomfield, Post and Molloy at the Post Tournament this weekend. Felician participates in the Marauder Clash at Millersville on Friday and Saturday.
