ALBANY-The College of Saint Rose manufactured a 19-12 shot advantage only to fall 2-0 to visiting Concordia in its 2017 season-opener tonight at Sullivan Field at the Plumeri Sports Complex.
Â
Freshman forward Dennis Limani set up the game-winner and added an insurance goal to propel the Clipppers (1-1).
Limani sent a diagonal feed through the area that sophomore midfielder Elad Katz touched home to the left side with 13:08 elapsed. He then gathered a loose ball on the right flank and dribbled for about 30-yards before sailing a shot into the far side at the 53:59 mark to close out the scoring.
Â
Senior keeper Jaime Gonzalez afforded the Clippers a chance by turning aside four shots on goal in each half. At the other end, senior
Joshua Rasmussen registered a pair of saves in both halves. Rasmussen's biggest one came in the 37th minute when he denied sophomore forward Sergio Matias who was sprung in alone.
Â
Junior forward
Ryan Rooney had a chance to get Saint Rose on the board in the 60th minute, but Gonzalez came off his line to thwart the breakaway. In the 89th minute, sophomore midfielder
Wari Isaac delivered a dangerous strike that forced Gonzalez to make a diving snare to his left.

Looking ahead, the Golden Knights have a 4:00 pm road date at Nyack on Thursday while the Clippers host Goldey-Beacom next Saturday at 2:00 pm.
