GOLDEN KNIGHTS CHALK UP ANOTHER CLEAN SHEET

NEW HAVEN-The College of Saint Rose defense stood stout yet again with its third clean sheet of the year to remain unbeaten with tonight's 1-0 Northeast-10 Conference triumph at Southern Connecticut State.

"I am really proud of the effort we demonstrated this evening. Our defense was solid once again and we generated some creative scoring opportunities. The girls are working very hard for each other," said head coach Laurie Darling Gutheil.

The Golden Knights 94-0-1/3-0-0 NE10) as usual dictated the pace by engineering a 17-8 shot advantage, including a staggering 13-5 on target threats advantage, and manufactured six corner kicks while yielding just a pair.

Sophomore forward Nina Predanic, the 2017 NE10 Rookie of the Year, provided the lone strike when she volleyed home a delivery from sophomore midfielder Deanna Trongone with less than two minutes remaining until intermission.

Between the posts, sophomore keeper Marika Laurendeau was called upon to make one save throughout her third shutout this autumn. In the process, she lowered her goals-against-average to 0.20 on the year. Senior Gabrielle Arruda had a busy night as she was required to make 12 saves throughout the evening for Southern Connecticut State.

Looking ahead, both squads are back on the pitch for conference matches Tuesday. The Golden Knights return home to take on league rival Assumption at 6:00 pm, while the Owls travel to Manchester, N.H. for a 4:00 pm meeting at Saint Anselm.
Notes: The Golden Knights have outshot their opponents by an 84-31 margin on the year, including a 35-7 differential in the first half…They have also manufactured a 29-11 corner kick margin…Laurendeau now leads the NE10 in GAA and is second behind a 0.941 save percentage…The lone goal she surrendered came in the season-opening 2-1 win vs. Wilmington back on August 31…Seven different players have figured in the scoring column…Predanic leads the scoring production unit with a pair of strikes and an assist…Senior midfielder Roxana Hernandez and sophomore midfielder Eva Frazzoni also have two goals apiece.
