ALBANY–The College of Saint Rose celebrated its Senior Day with a 7-2 victory against visiting Northeast-10 Conference rival Pace University this afternoon.

The Golden Knights (6-27/5-15 NE10) put themselves in control by scoring three times in the fourth that made it a 5-1 ballgame. They then added another in the fifth and one more in the seventh.

Senior left-hander Joe Pokrentowski scattered six hits and fanned nine over the distance to grab the victory. Meanwhile, junior left fielder Michael Shine and freshman right fielder Anthony Scheller both went 3-for-4.

Also, sophomore left fielder Kenny Fils-Aime and senior catcher Joe DeLuca each drove in a pair of runs.

"Joe Pokrentowski pitched another great game and it was nice to have the seniors go out with a win on Senior Day", said head coach Wayne Jones.

Saint Rose jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first on a two out base hit by Fils-Aime. Senior shortstop Tyler Ungerland belted an RBI single and then DeLuca brought across another pair with a two out, base hit to left in the fourth.

In the fifth, senior third baseman Alex Chandler scored on an error. Fils-Aime doubled to center and then came around on a Shine base hit to close out the scoring in the seventh.

Meanwhile, senior left fielder Domenick Luongo had two RBI for the Setters (25-15/14-8 NE10).

Prior to today's game, Ungerland, DeLuca, Chandler, and Pokrentowski; along with pitchers Michael Pastore, Austin Von Herbulis, and Carmine Vricciariello were recognized in a brief ceremony as part of Senior Day festivities.

Looking ahead, the Golden Knights have league dates at American International and Southern Connecticut State this Tuesday and Wednesday respectively, and then return home Saturday for their regular-season finale with a 12:00 pm doubleheader versus St. Joseph (VT). Meanwhile, the Setters have a home conference meeting with Adelphi on Tuesday.
