SAINT ROSE FALLS TWICE TO PACE

ALBANY–The College of Saint Rose dropped both ends of today's Northeast-10 Conference doubleheader, 9-4 and 14-1, to visiting Pace University. The Setters (25-14/14-7 NE10) broke open a 6-3 first game by pushing across three runs in the eighth and then scored at least two runs in each of the final four innings of the nightcap.

Sophomore left fielder Kenny Fils-Aime, freshman second baseman Andrew Pedone, and junior first baseman Joe Foran each had three hits on the day for the Golden Knights (5-27/4-15 NE10). Also, junior right fielder Michael Shine belted a solo home run in the finale.

For Pace, catcher Frank Mayo, a graduate student, finished 6-for-10 with five runs scored and four RBI.

Looking ahead, the two teams are scheduled to conclude their weekend series with a 12:00 pm game tomorrow. Seven Saint Rose seniors will be honored during a pregame ceremony.
