SAINT ROSE DROPS OPENER AT ADELPHI

GARDEN CITY, NY–Host Adelphi broke open a 2-2 ballgame by pushing across a run in the fifth and four more an inning later en route to upending The College of Saint Rose 16-2 in Northeast-10 Conference action today.
 
Freshman second baseman Andrew Pedone went 2-for-4 and drove in both Golden Knights (4-19/3-7 NE10) runs with a bases loaded, two-run double in the fifth.
 
Junior third baseman Steven Writhers drove in three runs for the Panthers (17-14/7-6 NE10).
 
Looking ahead, the two teams are scheduled to conclude their weekend series tomorrow with a 12:00 pm doubleheader.
