ALBANY, N.Y.-The College of Saint Rose was outscored 36-19 after halftime in a 66-56 loss to Dominican during the opening day of its own Holiday Classic this afternoon.

Karissa Birthwright led Saint Rose (5-5) with 18 points on 6-of-8 shooting. Sophomore forward
Leah Dollard added 10 points, while junior forward
Zoe McDonald secured a career-best 11 rebounds.

A trio of Chargers (3-7) recorded double figures. Freshman guard Khay'la Latimer knocked down seven 3-pointers en route to a game-high 25 points. Senior guard Rebecca Rabeiro contributed 12 points and nine assists, while sophomore guard Kyla Ramseur put in 11.

The Golden Knights, which started 9-of-15 from the field, utilized a 16-5 run during a 7:15 stretch to lead 37-30 at intermission.
The visitors scored the first 11 second half points to draw even at 50 heading to the final period. Dominican, now winners in three-straight games, started the fourth on a 9-2 run to go up seven, 59-52, with 5:53 remaining, before sealing the non-conference game at the foul line.
In today's second game, American International defeated #24 USciences 72-62. Junior forward Dana Watts totaled 29 points and 12 rebounds for the victorious Yellow Jackets (5-7). The Devils (7-2) had three players in double figures, led by senior guard Sarah Abbonizio with 24 points.
Looking ahead, the Holiday Classic concludes tomorrow. Saint Rose will face USciences at 2:00 pm following the American International-Dominican game that gets underway at noon.
