ALBANY, N.Y. - The College of Saint Rose women's volleyball team was defeated by Bentley 3-1 in Saturday afternoon Northeast-10 Conference action. The Golden Knights (12-15/3-9 NE10) fell by scores of 18-25, 18-25, 25-18 and 28-26.

For the third-straight match, sophomore outside hitter Stevie Schweitzer led the Saint Rose offense. She registered 19 kills on .204 hitting and 11 digs for her fourth "double-double" of the season.

Junior setter Sam Kubik  also recorded a "double-double" on a match-high 48 assists and 15 digs for the Golden Knights. It was the 11th time this fall that the Saint Rose co-captain turned the trick.

Junior middle hitter Shayna Webber added nine kills on .333 hitting and six total blocks. Freshman outside hitter Graciela Cruz also put down nine kills on .300 hitting for Saint Rose.

Sophomore libero Tina Ceriello, the Oct. 31 NE10 Libero of the Week, topped all players with 30 digs.

Before the match, the program recognized middle hitter Maddy Halverson and outside hitter Cara Kullman as part of the "Senior Day" festivities. Both players gave strong efforts in their final performances at the Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium. Halverson was all over the court, registering nine digs, four blocks and eight kills, while Kullman elevated six Falcon attacks.

Bentley (16-9/7-4 NE10) received "double-doubles" from sophomore outside hitter Dani Milner (18 kills on .213 hitting and 14 digs) and senior outside hitter Shannon Kelly (10 kills and 13 digs).

Senior libero Celia Cristofoli led the Falcons with 22 digs.

The visitors' setter duo of senior Isabella Perez and sophomore Xio Lopp combined for 39 assists.

Bentley hit .300 to take the first set. The visitors went on a 10-3 run to break open a 12-12 tie.

The Falcons slowly built a 17-9 lead in the second set. After Saint Rose called a timeout, the hosts reeled off four-straight points to force Bentley into using one as well. After the stoppage, the visitors went on a 3-0 run to take a 2-0 lead.

In the third set, the Golden Knights opened up a 4-0 advantage. After Bentley battled back to knot things at 12, Saint Rose took advantage of Falcon miscues to open up a 20-15 lead. From there, the hosts, which hit .306 in the set, closed things out on the strength of kills by Schweitzer, Cruz and Halverson.

Late in what ended up being the final set, Saint Rose had a pair of four-point leads. However, Bentley was able to extend the match and secure the victory.

NE10 play continues Friday, November 10. The Golden Knights travel to Southern New Hampshire, while Bentley hosts Pace.
