NORTH ANDOVER, Mass.- The College of Saint Rose women's volleyball team defeated Merrimack 3-0 (25-16, 25-19, 25-21) in 
 Northeast-10 Conference action Friday night.
Sophomore outside hitter 
Stevie Schweitzer led all players with 12 kills.
The Golden Knights (11-12/2-6 NE10) received 11 kills on .421 hitting from junior middle hitter 
Shayna Webber. She added five total blocks.
Junior middle hitter 
Grace Campbell put down six kills on .364 hitting in the win.
Junior setter 
Sam Kubik passed out 34 assists and sophomore libero 
Tina Ceriello totaled 15 digs.
"We had many players play well tonight" said Saint Rose Head Coach 
Vanessa Volpe-Rivera. "Sam did a great job of mixing up the offense and Shayna, Stevie and Grace all hit great."
Saint Rose held Merrimack (4-19/1-8 NE10) to a .095 hitting percentage for the match.
"Our serve reception was spot on and we did an excellent job blocking," explained Volpe-Rivera
In the opening set, the visitors broke open an 11-11 deadlock with a 6-0 run. Webber and Schweitzer had four kills each in the frame.
After a 10-2 stretch helped the Golden Knights take a 2-0 lead, Saint Rose overcame a late Merrimack charge to close it out in three.
Senior libero Christina Nye registered 16 digs for the Warriors. The home team received eight kills from senior outside hitter Mary Kate McCarroll. Sophomore setter Rosie Sperduto dished out 25 assists.
Looking ahead, both teams have NE10 matches tomorrow. The Golden Knights visit Assumption and Merrimack hosts Le Moyne.
