ALBANY-The College of Saint Rose scored once in each half and held off a late Pace University charge to upend the Setters 2-1 in Northeast-10 Conference action tonight at Sullivan Field at the Plumeri Sports Complex.

Laurie Darling Gutheil. "They are well aware of what they are playing for and earning three points tonight was crucial. I am very proud of our effort and desire to compete".
Sophomore forward
Caitlyn Dabagian scored the game-winner in the opening four minutes of the second half and set up the first goal with 18:08 elapsed for the Golden Knights (12-3-1/10-3-0 NE10). Senior back Drew Ribadeneyra brought the Setters (8-8-1/7-5-1 NE10) to within one by converting a penalty kicks at the 74:49 mark after a teammate was tripped up in the area.

Between the posts, sophomore
Marika Laurendeau recorded three saves and calmly thwarted several Pace forays into the area throughout the evening. Meanwhile, senior Hayley Pascoal recorded three stops for the Setters.

The contest got off to a relative slow start before sophomore midfielder
Victoria Barris collected a Dabagian feed from the left side and drove a strike into the right corner on only the game's third shot.

Sophomore forward
Nina Predanic then slipped a thru ball that Dabagian ran onto and deked a defender, before driving a shot that sailed under Pascoal and inside the left post to afford Saint Rose a 2-0 advantage.

The ensuing penalty kick energized the Setters who pressured the Golden Knights by manufacturing a corner and three shots throughout the final two minutes. Laurendeau turned aside one threat; another was blocked and the third went wide left just prior to the final whistle.

Going forward, both sides close out their regular-season dockets Saturday. Saint Rose travels to Manchester, N.H. to face Southern New Hampshire at 4:00 pm, while Pace hosts Le Moyne at 5:00 pm. The NE10 Championship is set to get underway with quarterfinal action Tuesday, October 31.
Notes: The Golden Knights have outscored their opponents 16-2 in the first half this season…They have also outshot them by a 249-162 margin…Thirteen different players have at least one goal…Tonight's starting 11 featured eight sophomores…This is the 18th consecutive year that Saint Rose has won at least 10 matches.
