SAINT ROSE STRIKES QUICK TO UPEND NYACK

ALBANY-The College of Saint Rose scored three times less than 10 minutes apart early in the first half and added another seven minutes before intermission to upend visiting Nyack 4-0 in non-conference action tonight.

Seven players figured in the scoring column for the Golden Knights (11-3-1) who generated a 27-4 shot advantage en route to the win.

Sophomore midfielder Karmyn Carter, senior midfielder Roxana Hernandez, junior midfielder Sophia Constantine, and freshman midfielder Alana Montreal all found the back of the net. Sophomore midfielder Victoria Barris picked up a pair of assists, while sophomore forward Caitlyn Dabagian and sophomore keeper Marika Laurendeau also helped set up a pair of goals.

Carter got it going when she deflected home a cross from Barris with 15:40 gone by for what proved to be the game-winner. A minute later, Hernandez knocked home a rebound. Constantine then redirected a touch from Barris at the 24:37 mark, before Montreal closed out the scoring.

Laurendeau, senior Meghan Hake, junior Madison Taylor, and sophomore Chloe Borasky made two saves collectively while splitting time between the posts. At the other end, freshman Great Enloe registered four saves for the Warriors (1-15-0).

Going forward, Saint Rose is off until next Wednesday when league rival Pace University arrives in the Capital Region for a 6:00 pm kickoff. That will mark the final regular-season home match of the year. Meanwhile, Nyack has a noon CACC meeting Saturday at Jefferson University in Philadelphia.
