SAINT ROSE FALLS AT UPSTATE CHALLENGE RIVAL LE MOYNE IN SEASON OPENER

SYRACUSE-The College of Saint Rose fell 9-0 in the 2016 season opener at Northeast-10 Conference rival Le Moyne on Wednesday, as the Dolphins earned the first point in the Upstate Challenge this year.
 
Junior Averie Bowen took to No. 1 singles and nearly forced a third set, but ultimately fell to sophomore Tiffany Dun, 6-2, 7-6 (7-1). Freshman Emily Farrell and junior KeriAnn Mahoney each grabbed two points in their singles matchups, but came up short.
 
Bowen and junior Alanna Bergmann dropped their No. 2 doubles matchup to Tiffany Dun and Amica Benoit-Limosani. At No. 3 doubles, sophomores Wendella Wilson and Ellen Farney fell to Autumn Hogan and Kim Dreisen.
 
Looking ahead, the Golden Knights will host American International in the home opener on Saturday, September 10 at 1:00 pm at Kelton Courts. Saint Rose then welcomes Saint Michael's to Albany for a 1:00 pm match on Sunday, September 11.
