ALBANY–American International scored midway through the first half to upend The College of Saint Rose 1-0 in
Northeast-10 Conference action this afternoon at Sullivan Field at the Plumeri Sports Complex.

The Yellow Jackets generated a 13-9 shot advantage, although the Golden Knights manufactured a 5-2 corner kick differential.

Sophomore forward Frederica Frew registered her third goal of the year with 22:42 gone by to allow American International (5-2/4-0 NE-10) to win its fifth consecutive, one-goal game after opening the year 0-2.

Saint Rose (5-3/2-3 NE-10) kept going forward and ultimately engineered a pair of corner kicks in the final six minutes, but was unable to come up with the equalizer.

Sophomore keeper
Madison Taylor made three key saves throughout the final 32:05 to keep the Golden Knights within striking distance, while freshman
Marika Laurendeau came up with one save during the opening 57:55.

At the other end, sophomore Madison Brown turned aside four threats-on-target for the Yellow Jackets.

Looking ahead, both sides have 7:00 pm conference matches on Wednesday. Saint Rose will head to Pleasantville to take on Pace University, while American International will host Le Moyne.
