GOLDEN KNIGHTS DEALT SETBACK AT ADELPHI

GARDEN CITY, N.Y.-The College of Saint Rose suffered an 11-3 setback at Adelphi on Saturday in a Northeast-10 Conference matchup on Long Island.
 
The Golden Knights (7-17/2-6 NE-10) got on the board in the third when freshman designated player Briana Bowen singled home sophomore third baseman Jadyn Costello to cut the Adelphi (21-13/11-2 NE-10) lead to 4-1.
 
The Panthers answered with three runs in the home half of the third, one in the fourth, and three in the fifth to force a run rule decision.
 
Junior left fielder Carly Wood went 1-for-3 and hit a two-run shot in the top of the fourth.
 
Up next, Saint Rose is back at it with the Panthers on Sunday, April 10 for a 12 p.m. doubleheader at Adelphi.
