GOLDEN KNIGHTS SUFFER A PAIR OF SETBACKS


FLORENCE, SC–The College of Saint Rose dropped both of its games today at Francis Marion University.

Millersville scored twice in the eighth inning to break a 2-2 tie and upend the Golden Knights 4-2 in the first contest, while the host 15th ranked Patriots pushed across eight runs in the third en route to a 16-2 victory in the second game.
 
Junior shortstop Tyler Ungerland went 2-for 4 and scored a run, while senior right-hander Nick Cioffi allowed one earned run and fanned four throughout 7.0 innings in a no-decision outing in the opener.
 
For Millersville (8-1), junior left fielder Jeremy Musser  went 2-for-3 and belted a leadoff home run in the eighth.
 
In the Francis Marion game, sophomore first baseman Chris Introcaso went 2-for-4 with an RBI double in the eighth to lead Saint Rose (0-4). Meanwhile, senior center fielder Shuler Ward drove in three runs for Francis Marion (11-2).
 
Looking ahead, the Golden Knights are scheduled to close out their weekend trip with another doubleheader tomorrow. They again will face Millersville at 11:00 am and the Patriots at 2:00 pm.
