GOLDEN KNIGHTS FALL AT STREAKING ADELPHI

Nazon Leads Saint Rose Scoring Parade For The Third Straight Game

GARDEN CITY, NY- Host Adelphi built a double-digit lead in the first period on the way to upending The College of Saint Rose 80-54 in Northeast-10 Conference tonight. In the process, the host Panthers (7-2/5-0 NE10) ran their win streak to three games and improved to 3-0 at home.

The Golden Knights (3-5/2-4 NE10) managed to pull within six, 16-10, at the outset of the second period after sophomore forward Karissa Birthwright finished a layup off a feed from senior forward Staci Barrett.

However, Adelphi responded with eight unanswered points and subsequently maintained a double-digit advantage the rest of the evening.

Senior guard Taylor Nazon led the Saint Rose scoring parade for the third straight game with 17 points, while Birthwright finished with 14 to go along with a season-high nine rebounds and three blocks.

For the Panthers, senior forward Sierra Clark recorded a "double-double" with 21 points and 10 boards, while fellow senior forwards Calli Balfour and Sierra Schrader tossed in 19 and 10 points respectively.

Looking ahead, the Golden Knights are back on the road Thursday with a 6:00 pm non-league game at Concordia College in Bronxville. Meanwhile, Adelphi has a 1:30 pm NE10 date at Pace University Saturday.
