GOLDEN KNIGHTS PULL AWAY TO UPEND DOMINICAN DURING FIRST DAY AT AIC TOURNAMENT

Saint Rsoe Puts Nine Players In The Scoring Column

SPRINGFIELD-The College of Saint Rose outscored Dominican 15-5 throughout the opening eight minutes of the fourth period en route to a 58-44 victory during the first day of action at the American International College Tournament.

The Golden Knights (5-5) put nine players in the scoring column and manufactured a 44-36 rebounding advantage, including a 33-20 differential on the defensive glass.

"We looked a little rusty this afternoon, but we crashed the boards well. We also got solid contributions from our bench, which was encouraging," said head coach Karen Haag.

For Dominican (1-9), senior forward Lisa Bouffard tossed in 12 points and hauled in seven caroms.
