SPRINGFIELD-The College of Saint Rose shot 52.9 percent (27-for-51) from the floor and put four players in twin-figures scoring for the third time in as many games this season to upend host American International 73-59 in the
Northeast-10 Conference opener for both squads this evening.

The Golden Knights (3-0/1-0 NE-10) broke open an eight point, 55-47, ballgame with 7:57 remaining by scoring seven unanswered points to put themselves up by 15, 62-47, with 5:38 to go.

Junior forward
Julian Lipinski canned a pair from the line, fellow junior forward
Jack Jones converted a fast break feed from junior guard
Mical-Ryan Boyd, and senior guard
Damon Coleman finished a three-point play to account for the decisive jaunt.

Coleman poured in a career-high 19 points to lead the offense while Boyd tossed in 14 and handed out five assists. Lipinski finished with 12 points and nine rebounds, while senior forward
Tyler Sayre had 11 points and six boards.

For American International (1-2/0-1 NE-10), sophomore guard Jayvon Pitts-Young and junior forward Tahlib Swan scored 13 and 12 points respectively.

Looking ahead, Saint Rose returns home Saturday to face New Haven in the second half of a conference doubleheader. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:30 pm. Meanwhile, American International has a 3:30 pm meeting Saturday at Adelphi on Long Island.
Notes: The Golden Knights are 3-0 for the first time in five years…Beaury is now just one victory shy of becoming only the 17th NCAA Division II mentor to reach the 600 win plateau…Saint Rose has generated 60 assists on its 90 made field goals thus far…The Golden Knights have shot 54.9 percent (62-for-113) from the field and have outscored their opponents 91-58 in the first half throughout their last two games.
