ALBANY-The College of Saint Rose defeated
Northeast-10 Conference foe Southern New Hampshire, 3-2 (27-25, 12-25, 20-25, 25-23, 15-10), before falling to LIU Post 3-1 (26-28, 25-15, 26-24, 25-22) in a tri-match on Saturday afternoon at Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium.

The Golden Knights (9-11/4-4 NE-10) battled back from a 2-1 deficit in the opening match of the day against Southern New Hampshire (5-17/3-6 NE-10). The Penmen were two points away from victory in game four with the match tied at 23-23, however Saint Rose scored the final two points to force a fifth game. With the final set locked at 8-8, the Golden Knights sealed the victory by closing on a 7-2 run.

Senior outside hitter
Maryellen Devic totaled a season-high 24 kills behind a .339 attack percentage, and also registered 20 digs and four blocks. Senior setter
Erica Ziskin tallied four kills on five attacks and finished with 21 assists, eight digs and three service aces.

Senior defensive specialist
Samantha Atchinson collected 22 digs, while junior setter
Cara Kullman piled up a team-best 24 assists.

The Penmen had three players record 14 or more kills including a team-best 19 from senior outside hitter Victoria Wehrmann.

In the second match of the day against LIU Post (9-11), Saint Rose could not carry momentum from a 28-26 opening set victory and dropped the final three games to the Pioneers.

Devic finished with a match-best 23 kills, while senior outside hitter
Rachel Salasky hit .318 and totaled 10 kills, three assists and two blocks. Ziskin collected 18 assists, two aces and 13 digs for her fourth "double-double" of the season, while Kullman recorded 26 assists and eight digs.

Up next, the Golden Knights hit the road next weekend with a 7:30 pm match at Bentley on Friday, October 28, before traveling to Stonehill for a 2:00 pm date with the Skyhawks on Saturday, October 29.
