NINTH RANKED SAINT ROSE POSTS THIRD STRAIGHT SHUTOUT

SPRINGFIELD, MA–The College of Saint Rose posted its third consecutive shutout with a 1-0 win at Northeast-10 Conference rival American International today. The ninth-ranked Golden Knights (7-0-1/5-0-0 NE-10) took advantage of an own goal in the final two minutes prior to intermission to remain the only unbeaten or untied team in NE-10 play.

Saint Rose has now allowed a mere four goals throughout its opening eight contests this season and has played nearly 308 consecutive minutes of scoreless soccer.

Freshman keeper Madison Taylor made all four of her saves in the second stanza to lower her goals-against-average to 0.48 on the year. Meanwhile, sophomore forward Morgan Burchhardt and freshman midfielder Danae Kaldaridou both manufactured a pair of threats-on-target at the other end.

Senior keeper Rachel Edgin made nine saves, including six during the final 45 minutes, to keep the Yellow Jackets (3-4/2-2 NE-10) in the match.

Looking ahead, both squads return to the pitch this Wednesday. The Golden Knights will host Pace University at 5:30 pm. That match may be seen live on www.gogoldenknights.tv. Meanwhile, the Yellow Jackets will travel to Syracuse for a 3:00 pm date at Le Moyne.
