TROY, N.Y. – The College of Saint Rose women's tennis team earned its first complete sweep of the season with a 9-0 victory over The Sage Colleges Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Knights improved to 2-5 overall, while the Gators remained winless at 0-5.

Senior Isabella Cubillos and freshman Averie Bowen got things started in doubles with an 8-1 win at No. 1 over senior Katie Schultz and junior Alex Faas. Junior Paige Southwick and sophomore Alanna Bergmann captured the same win at second over senior Melissa Estremera and freshman Emily Schultz. Sophomore KeriAnn Mahoney and sophomore Maureen Elliott shutout junior Amrita Singh and sophomore Lindsey Tolman 8-0 at No. 3.

Bowen continued her route into No. 1 singles with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Schultz (Katie), as did Cubillos at second, winning 6-1, 6-0 over Estremera.

Southwick and Mahoney gave up just one set apiece at third and fourth, respectively, while Bergmann claimed No. 5 6-2, 6-4 over Tolman. Elliott nabbed her first career singles win over Samantha Dibbell 6-4, 6-1 at sixth.

Saint Rose hosts SUNY Plattsburgh on Sunday at 1:00 pm at Kelton Courts at Myers Middle School.
