Scouting Saint Rose (1-4): The Golden Knights kicked off a four-match non-conference slate at St. Thomas Aquinas Wednesday afternoon. The Spartans claimed the meeting in Sparkill, N.Y., 8-1. Freshman
Averie Bowen and Cubillos nabbed the lone point for Saint Rose as they defeated junior Bianca Signore and sophomore Sara O'Brien 9-7 at No. 1 doubles. In singles, Bowen and Cubillos both fell in the tiebreaker. Bowen and Signore battled 2-6, 6-4 (10-8), and Cubillos registered a 1-6, 6-2 (10-6) loss to sophomore Nyenyeri Kanefu.
Scouting Roberts Wesleyan (3-0): The Red Hawks post a perfect record so far with wins over Northeast-10 Conference foes Saint Anselm and Franklin Pierce. Roberts Wesleyan came out strong in East Coast Conference play with a 6-3 win over Daemen on Wednesday. Freshmen Alyssa Brault and Tiffany Hamdan, and seniors Camilla and Emily Linhart remain unscathed in singles, all with 3-0 marks. Linhart (Camilla) pairs with sophomore Marine Kennel, and Linhart (Emily) joins with Brault, at second and third doubles, respectively, while both sets have also gone 3-0 to start the season.
Up next: The Golden Knights head to Sage on Saturday for a 1:00 pm start, and return to Kelton Courts at Myers Middle School on Sunday to host SUNY Plattsburgh, also at 1:00 pm.
