AMHERST, NY–The College of Saint Rose scored in the opening six minutes of each half to upend host Daemen 2-0 today in non-league action. The Golden Knights dictated the pace throughout the second period by engineering a 9-1 shot advantage and a 4-0 corner kick differential throughout that span.

Romaine Williamson set up first goal and accounted for the insurance marker to spearhead the effort.

Junior midfielder
Joshua Hanif finished what proved the game-winner when he ripped a Williamson pass from the right wing inside the left post with 5:06 gone by. Williamson then scored his first goal in a Golden Knights uniform off a set piece from 20-yards out with 50:56 elapsed.

Saint Rose (1-1) senior keeper
Colan Balkwell came up with three saves for his third career clean sheet, while freshman Justin Figler registered a like number at the other end for the Wildcats (1-3).

Looking ahead, both squads have road matches set for Tuesday. The Golden Knights open the
Northeast-10 Conference portion of their 2015 slate with a 4:00 pm meeting at Stonehill in Easton, MA. Daemen has a 7:00 pm date at Gannon in Erie, PA.
