GOLDEN KNIGHTS DELIVER 300TH WIN TO HEAD COACH KAREN HAAG

ALBANY-The College of Saint Rose held Pace University to 30.4 percent (17-for-56) shooting to hand head coach Karen Haag her 300th overall career win behind tonight's 61-47 victory against Northeast-10 Conference rival Pace University at the Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium.

Sophomore forward Staci Barrett led the Golden Knights (11-12/7-10 NE-10) with 16 points and eight rebounds while junior guard Keyontae Williams and senior center Mariah Lesure tossed in 12 apiece.

Also, senior guard Gabie Polce scored six points to become just the 23rd player in program annals to ascend the 1,000 point plateau.

The Golden Knights led for all but a few seconds and put themselves in control with a 16-6 run at the 12:00 minute mark of the first half that transformed a 12-6 lead into a 28-12 advantage with 8:00 left. Saint Rose eventually took a 36-19 lead into the locker room at the break and never trailed by less than double digits throughout the second stanza.

Freshman guard Gabriella Rubin had 13 points and senior guard Margo Hackett added 11 to lead the Setters (11-13/5-11 NE-10).

Looking ahead, both teams have 1:30 pm games this Saturday. The Golden Knights will play their final regular-season home game of the year and host Upstate Challenge rival Le Moyne, while the Setters will travel to New Haven. The Saint Rose contest may be seen live on www.gogoldenknights.tv.
