GOLDEN KNIGHTS HAVE FOUR GAME WIN STREAK SNAPPED

SYRACUSE-The College of Saint Rose had its four game win streak snapped with tonight's 68-58 setback at Northeast-10 Conference rival Le Moyne that allowed the Dolphins to gain one-half point in the year-long Upstate Challenge rivalry series between the two schools.

The second half featured six ties and three lead changes. However, Le Moyne (3-4/2-1 NE-10) used a 10-4 spurt that transformed a 39-35 deficit into a 45-43 advantage with 8:23 to go. The contest was then deadlocked on four ensuing occasions, but the Dolphins held the Golden Knights (5-2/3-1 NE-10) to a pair of field goals during the final 3:42 and sealed the victory by going 6-for-6 from the foul line in the last 24 seconds.

Sophomore forward Tyler Sayre led Saint Rose with 14 points, but scored only two in the second half after picking up his fourth foul midway through the period. Freshman guard Pharroh Gordon finished with 12 points and eight rebounds while sophomore forward Jack Jones added six points and a like number of boards in 22 minutes off the bench.

For Le Moyne, junior guard Tyquan Rolon led a quartet of double-figure scorers with 23 points to go along with four assists and four steals. Junior forward Stan Buczek recorded a double-double behind 11 points, on 4-for-5 shooting, and 10 rebounds.

Looking ahead, both teams have road NE-10 games this Saturday. The Golden Knights have a 3:30 pm encounter at #2 Southern Connecticut State, while the Dolphins have a 2:00 pm date at Adelphi.

Sayre has now been in double-figures scoring in all seven contests to date. Meanwhile, Saint Rose was held to 36.2 percent (21-for-58) shooting from the floor. It marks only the second time this season the Golden Knights have shot less than 50.0 percent.
