SAINT ROSE UPENDS FISHER COLLEGE IN EXHIBITION


ALBANY-The College of Saint Rose shot 49.2 percent (30-for-61) from the floor, including 52.0 percent (13-for-25) from the arc, to upend Fisher College 81-63 in tonight's exhibition at the Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium.
 
Junior forward Tyler Sayre scored 16 points while sophomore forward Anthony Russell tossed in 14 points on 4-for-5 shooting from long range to lead the Golden Knights. Also, junior guard Damon Coleman added 10 points, a pair of assists and three steals.
 
For the Falcons, senior guard Tyler Shular led all scorers with 19 points while junior forward Malik Wilson wound up with 13.
 
The Golden Knights, who had all 11 participants figure in the scoring column, led throughout the final 35 minutes and used a 20-5 run at the 14:29 mark of the first half that transformed a 10-10 tie into a 30-15 advantage after Russell knocked down a 3-pointer off a Sayre feed. It was double-digit affair the rest of the way with Saint Rose leading by as many as 27 points, 50-23, in the opening minute of the second stanza.
 
Looking ahead, the Golden Knights officially open their season by hosting the sixth annual Northeast-10 Challenge that is presented by the Hilton Garden Inn-Albany Medical Center. The Golden Knights will meet Bloomfield on Saturday, November 14 at 7:00 pm following the East Stroudsburg-Le Moyne game at 5:00 pm. The following day, Saint Rose will face East Stroudsburg at 5:00 pm. Le Moyne and Bloomfield are scheduled for a 3:00 pm start.
