WEST HAVEN – The College of Saint Rose scored the final four points on Saturday evening as the Golden Knights emerged victorious over New Haven, 61-58, in a tightly-contested
Northeast-10 Conference Southwest Division battle at Charger Gymnasium.

Junior forward
Tyler Sayre scored a game-high 18 points, pulled down a game-best nine rebounds, and shot a perfect 10-of-10 from the free-throw line.

Sophomore forward
Julian Lipinski netted 12 points on 6-of-10 (60.0 percent) shooting from the field, and grabbed 11 boards.

Junior guard
 Damon Coleman and sophomore guard
Jamaal Greenwood scored seven points each, and Coleman added four assists.
Â
Saint Rose (3-1/2-0 NE-10) opened the game on a 10-1 run including six early points for Lipinski.
Â
However, New Haven (0-2/0-2 NE-10) made a 12-0 run after trailing 16-10, to take a 22-16 lead at the 5:22 mark in the first half.

The Chargers took a 29-24 lead into the locker room at halftime and held the lead until the Golden Knights tied the game at 39-39 with 12:08 remaining in regulation.

With Saint Rose on top 47-46, New Haven fired off a 9-1 run to take its largest lead of the game at 55-48 with 5:12 remaining.

Next, the Golden Knights promptly responded with a 9-1 run of their own, setting up an exciting finish.
Â
Down the stretch, each team missed the front end of a one-and-one and New Haven had a chance to tie the game, but missed a three-point attempt from the right corner with four seconds remaining.

Looking ahead, Saint Rose will host Pace on Tuesday, November 24 at 7:30 p.m. at Daniel P Nolan Gymnasium. The game may be seen live on
