Maria Malafronte nabbed the lone point for the Golden Knights as they won by default at No. 3. The same situation held true in singles with Bergmann claimed the fifth slot, and Malafronte in No. 6. Senior
Isabella Cubillos was the only Golden Knight to secure any games in singles, falling 6-1, 6-3 to Katarina Barborikova '15 at No. 1.
Scouting Saint Rose (3-10, 1-7 NE-10): The Golden Knights have dropped five of their last seven matches, including meetings with Northeast-10 Conference foes Bentley and Stonehill over the weekend. Sophomore
Averie Bowen leads Saint Rose in both phases of the game, posting a 5-8 mark at No. 1 singles, and an 8-5 showing with Cubillos at first doubles. Playing at No. 3 singles, senior
Paige Southwick, along with Cubillos at second, holds a 3-10 record. Southwick pairs with Bergmann for a 3-6 posting at second doubles.
Scouting Adelphi (10-0, 9-0 NE-10): The Panthers have remained perfect throughout the fall season, most recently defeating league foes Saint Anselm and Assumption. Sophomore Rebecca Fakas holds the most impressive record for Adelphi, sitting at 8-0 at fourth singles, and joining primarily with freshman Elena Nastasi at third doubles to go 7-1. Sophomore Stefani Lineva has played the No. 1 singles position all season, but has put together a 2-6 record. Sophomore Elizabeth Kallengberg holds strong at second with a 5-2 mark, while freshman Samantha Perri sits perfect at fifth at 7-0. In doubles, Kallenberg and Perri are 7-0 at second, while Lineva and freshman Karen Serina hold even at 4-4 at No. 1.
Up next: Saint Rose hits the road one last time this season with matches at Franklin Pierce on Sunday, and a make-up contest at New Haven on Monday. The Golden Knights wrap the NE-10 season on Saturday, October 17 as they host Southern New Hampshire at 1:00 pm, and celebrates senior day by welcoming non-conference foe Daemen the following day at 2:00 pm. Both matches are set to take place at Kelton Courts at Myers Middles School.
