GOLDEN KNIGHTS COMPLETE IMPRESSIVE WEEKEND SWEEP

ALBANY–The College of Saint Rose followed up last night's victory with another impressive performance en route to this afternoon's 3-0 win versus visiting Northeast-10 Conference rival Stonehill.
 
The Golden Knights (10-10/6-5 NE-10) rallied from 15-10 and 27-26 deficits in the third set to seal the match. Sophomore middle hitter Maryellen Devic and junior outside hitter Rachel Salasky closed it out by wrapping a pair of kills around a Skyhawks (10-14/4-8 NE-10) error.
 
Saint Rose, which has now won three straight, never trailed in the opener and scored 16 of the final 23 points to erase a 15-9 deficit in the second.
 
Devic and Salasky finished with 10 kills apiece, while junior libero Samantha Atchinson came up with 10 digs out of the back. Also, freshman setter Sam Kubik handed out 19 assists and junior setter Erica Ziskin finished with 11.
 
Senior outside hitter Kelsey Weymouth had eight kills and sophomore outside hitter Ashley Hitchcock had seven kills and nine digs for Stonehill.
 
Looking ahead, both teams return to the floor for 1:00 pm NE-10 matches next Saturday. Saint Rose has a meeting at Merrimack in North Andover, MA while Stonehill has a home match versus Southern Connecticut State.
