SAINT ROSE FALLS 3-0 AT ADELPHI


GARDEN CITY, NY-The College of Saint Rose had its three match win streak snapped with tonight's 3-0 setback at Northeaast-10 Conference rival Adelphi. The contest marked the regular-season finale for both squads.
 
Senior keeper Colan Balkwell recorded three saves for the Golden Knights as the Panthers engineered a 7-1 shot-on-goal differential.
 
Saint Rose (8-7-1/5-7-1 NE-10), which nonetheless has put together its best conference slate throughout its 16-year NE-10 tenure, will visit second-seed Merrimack in a quarterfinal match this Tuesday, November 3.
 
As for this evening, Adelphi (11-3-3/9-2-2 NE-10) scored twice in the opening 20 minutes to put itself in control. Junior midfielder Caelan Hueber knocked home a deflection in the area with 9:18 elapsed and then senior midfielder Alejandro Penzini converted a penalty kick 10 minutes later. Sophomore midfielder Federico De Oliveira added the final strike in the opening seven minutes of the second half.
