GOLDEN KNIGHTS SET TO FACE LEAGUE RIVAL ADELPHI ON SATURDAY

Adelphi (10-4, 2-0 NE-10) at Saint Rose (4-6, 1-1 NE-10)

Last meeting (11/11/14): Saint Rose traveled to Garden City for the first round of the Northeast-10 Conference Championship Tournament, only to be sent home with a 3-1 loss. The Golden Knights scraped by with a win in set one, but were limited to just 15 points in game two for a 1-1 tie heading into the break. The Panthers claimed the next two sets for the quarter final win. Senior right side Carissa Dube and junior outside hitter Maryellen Devic registered double-digit kills with 11 and 12 apiece, while junior Jennifer Gundrum put up four blocks. Adelphi's Haley Blunt '15 knocked down 17 big kills, while Kaitlyn DeStefano '15 registered eight blocks. In the libero battle, Katy Daniels '15 recorded 29 digs, and Panther Sierra Cook nabbed 24.
 
Scouting Saint Rose (4-6, 1-1 NE-10): The Golden Knights went 1-1 in their opening week of NE-10 play, falling at Upstate Challenge rival Le Moyne in the deciding set, and claiming a win over Southern Connecticut in the same situation. Devic leads Saint Rose offensively with 2.95 kills per-set, followed by junior outside hitter Rachel Salasky at 1.85. Freshman Sam Kubik and junior Erica Ziskin register 4.15 and 3.83 assists per-set, respectively, while libero Samantha Atchinson holds a 3.56 digs average. Gundrum leads from the middle with .64 blocks per-set.
 
Scouting Adelphi (10-4, 2-0 NE-10): Entering Saturday's contest on a five-game win streak, the Panthers claimed wins over Georgian Court and Assumption last week, and kept momentum going with a 3-2 victory over NYIT on Tuesday. Junior Mandy Stanislovaitis boasts a 3.54 kills average for the offensive-high, followed by senior Shelby Stoner at 2.90. Sophomore setter Megan Manierski leads the NE-10 with 9.75 assists per-set, and junior Amanda Borges registers a team-high 5.27 digs per-set mark.
