SAINT ROSE AND MERCY PLAY TO A 2-2 DRAW

DOBBS FERRY, NY–Host Mercy scored twice in the second half including three minutes after The College of Saint Rose forged a 2-1 lead to draw even with the ninth-ranked Golden Knights earlier today.

Sophomore forward Morgan Burchhardt set up both Saint Rose strikes that were deposited by freshman midfielder Danae Kaldaridou and sophomore midfielder Roxana Hernandez. Between the posts, freshman goalkeeper Madison Taylor recorded a season-high six saves.

Kaldaridou made it 1-0 Saint Rose (7-1-2) with a mere nine minutes expired when she touched home Burchhardt's cross. The Mavericks (3-3-2) drew even for the first time with 67:05 gone by when sophomore midfielder Heidi Serna finished a through ball from fellow sophomore midfielder Alyssa Iannuzzi.

Hernandez tapped in another Burchhardt cross six minutes later, but freshman forward Haley Noble countered for Mercy when she finished a give-and-go with freshman midfielder Molly O'Callaghan. The Mavericks then applied pressure throughout the two extra sessions that yielded a 5-0 shot advantage during that span.

Looking ahead, the Golden Knights return home Tuesday to take on Northeast-10 Conference rival Franklin Pierce at 5:30 pm. Meanwhile, the Mavericks are scheduled to visit NYIT on Wednesday at 1:00 pm.
