#17 GOLDEN KNIGHTS ROLL PAST NEW HAVEN

ALBANY–The College of Saint Rose put itself in control early on and never looked back on the way to a 7-0 rain-drenched Northeast-10 Conference win against visiting New Haven tonight.

The Chargers (9-5-3/5-5-3 NE-10) entered the evening unbeaten in their last four matches, but the Golden Knights put a halt to that streak by scoring four goals within a 14 minute span midway through the first period to take a commanding 4-0 lead at the break.

Sophomore forward Morgan Burchhardt and freshman midfielder Danae Kaldaridou provided the most firepower for the 17th-ranked Golden Knights (13-2-2/11-2-0 NE-10) who have now won six of their last seven, including four straight heading into Saturday's regular-season finale at Merrimack.

Burchhardt, the second leading point producer (26) in the NE-10, wound up with a pair of goals and three assists while Kaldaridou contributed two strikes, including the game-winner in the 19th minute, and an assist. Additionally, sophomore forward Courtney Benson scored her first collegiate goal. Senior midfielders Michaela Phillips, Amanda Vasquez, and Gianna Smith also manufactured points.

Between the posts, freshman keeper Madison Taylor was called upon to make three saves while picking up her fifth clean sheet this autumn.

On the year, Saint Rose has now outscored its opponents 25-5 throughout the first half and has bolstered its league-leading scoring average to 2.89 goals per-game. Conversely, the Golden Knights are surrendering a mere 0.73 goals on a regular basis.

Looking ahead, Saint Rose will host an NE-10 Championship Quarterfinal next Tuesday, November 3 following Saturday's date at Merrimack in North Andover, MA. Meanwhile, New Haven has a 7:00 pm home meeting versus Saint Anselm on Saturday with a potential postseason berth on the line.
